Arlow tried calci worms for the first time. In this post, I explain wat calci worms are and how Arlow liked them.
My gecko is a difficult eater. He’s very picky and he only wants to eat mealworms most of the time. But unfortunately, mealworms aren’t a great feeding choice for leopard geckos. I get him to eat dubias sometimes but he has trouble catching them. So I was desperately looking for something new and healthy.
Remember that it’s extremely important to offer your gecko a variety of different insects.
Since I noticed that my gecko had trouble with the dubias, I wanted to try another kind of worm. I found out that phoenix/calci worms are extremely healthy for leopard geckos so I wanted to give it a shot.
Wat are phoenix worms?
Phoenix worms, also known as calci worms, are black soldier fly larvae. They are an excellent choice as feeder insects for your leopard gecko as they are low in fat and high in calcium.
That’s one of the reasons why they are way better than mealworms and wax worms.
They’re also great for bearded dragons.
Please remember that it’s extremely important to offer your gecko a variety of different insects. Providing your gecko with different feeder insects will make for a healthy, happy leopard gecko.
